A Weekend
Made for
Winter

Enough to experience.
Enough space to actually enjoy it.

Touch it. Make it. Learn it. Take it home.

CACAO • CREATIVITY • CONNECTION
Friday evening isn't about diving straight into a packed schedule.
It's about arriving.
After everyone has settled in, we'll gather for our welcome, share our first dinner together and then ease into the weekend with cacao and creativity.
With a warm cup of cacao nearby, we'll turn our attention to moss, texture and botanical materials.

Forest Bathing
INTO THE WINTER WOODS
A guided forest bathing experience.

At some point during the weekend, we need to put down the jars and go outside.
But this isn't a hike.
Forest bathing is about slowing down enough to notice what we normally walk straight past.
The sound of water moving beneath winter ice.
The texture of bark.
Cold air.
Snow beneath your boots.
The strange stillness that happens in a forest at this time of year.
As a trained forest-bathing guide, I'll lead you through a series of gentle invitations designed to encourage sensory awareness, curiosity, stillness and connection with the natural environment.
There is nowhere we need to reach.
No distance we need to accomplish.
The forest itself is the destination.
Our experience will be gentle and adapted to the weather and conditions of the day.
REST • EXPLORE • CONNECT

Because a retreat should actually feel like a retreat.
There will be things happening throughout the weekend—but there will also be room between them.
Time for another coffee.
Time to wander.
Time to talk to someone you've just met.
Time to curl up with your journal.
Time to explore the property.
Time to simply sit somewhere beautiful without immediately needing to move on to the next thing.
Optional morning movement will also be available for overnight guests who feel like starting the day with music and movement.
I'll be dancing either way.
You're welcome to join me.
Enough to experience. Enough space to actually enjoy it.

GATHER AROUND THE TABLE
Good food is part of this retreat.
Not an afterthought.
Throughout The Woodland Apothecary, our dedicated retreat chef will prepare warm, generous meals made for a winter weekend away.
Think comforting seasonal food, beautiful breakfasts, fresh breads, homemade treats and the kind of meals that make everyone linger around the table a little longer.
For overnight guests, your retreat includes:
Friday — Welcome Dinner
Saturday — Breakfast • Lunch • Dinner
Sunday — Farewell Brunch
Snacks, treats, coffee and tea will also be available throughout the weekend.
Our non-residential retreat experience includes Friday dinner and Saturday lunch and dinner.
Dietary requirements will be collected during registration. If you have a severe allergy or complex dietary requirement, please contact us before booking so we can determine whether we can safely accommodate you.
Come hungry.
Once you arrive, we'll take care of the rest.

YOU'LL NEED A LITTLE ROOM IN YOUR BAG.

You aren't leaving empty-handed.

Meet Laura
My name is Laura Moses!!
I'm Laura—double-certified horticulturist, landscape designer, educator, home herbalist, forest-bathing guide and founder of The Woodland Awakenings.
For nearly two decades, I've built my life around plants and the natural world—growing them, designing with them, teaching about them, creating with them and turning to nature when I've needed somewhere to come back to myself.
The Woodland Apothecary brings a lot of what I love together in one place.
Plants. Creativity. Food. Forests. Learning. Laughter. And a table covered in supplies waiting for someone to make something.
You don't need experience. Just come curious.
— Laura
Shine, Shine

'Okay, Let's Make Something!'
COME CURIOUS.
A winter forest.
A warm kitchen.
A table covered in herbs.
Something simmering on the stove.
Something beautiful being made with your hands.
And a small group of people experiencing it alongside you.
